A discussion on the new book, by Dr. Rajan Hoole and Kirupa Hoole, Democracy Stillborn: Lankas Rejection of Equal Rights at Independence will be held at the ICES auditorium, No 2, Kynsey Terrace, Colombo 8 on Saturday, January 21st from 4 p.m.- 6 p.m.

The authors, Dr. Rajan Hoole and Kirupa Hoole, will participate in the discussion.

Dr. Kalana Senaratne, Senior Lecturer, University of Peradeniya, M. Vamadevan, Hill Country Tamil Scholar and retired civil servant, and Mr. P. Devaraj, Former State Minister, and Member of Parliament, will comment on the book.

This will be followed by a response by the two authors. Balachandran Gowthaman will moderate.

This discussion is the first in a series of events to mark 200 years since the Up-country Tamils arrived in the country.
