About the Event

Frank Heidemann is Professor of Social and Cultural Anthropology at Ludwig Maximillan University of Munich, Germany. German social anthropologist and have been working in Sri Lanka and mainly in South India in the 1980s and later onwards. His edited volume with Philipp Zehmisch titled Manifestations of History: Time, Space and Community in the Andaman Islands will come to light on September 10, 2016. It contains a chapter on the repatriates from Sri Lanka on Little Andaman and on Katchal. Professor Heidemanns research interest are Visual Anthropology, Social Aesthetics, Anthropology of the Senses, Postcolonial Studies, Political Anthropology and Anthropology Theory.
